for a even more random effect you can turn on the transpose to minor or mayor (on the arpeggiator) i forgot to mention that

So my question is, if I'm working with cubase, can I use any type of arpeggiator plugin to get that effect in my hi-hats?

you will have to try mate, havent opend cubase since c3

maybe somebody that uses cubase could answer this question
