i think these guys are a great band...i wonder how come they have remained quiet for such a long time..Killing in the Name of is an anarchist anthem...anyone else like their message?

Killing in the Name is not exactly an anarchist theme - while seeming so on the surface, it is about taking responsibility for the groups you belong in, not necessarily in the limited (and may I add, childish) definition of anarchy which means "don't belong to any group", which would exclude anyone calling himself an anarchist from actually being an anarchist.
"those who die are justified, for wearing a badge, they're the chosen whites" follows the last bit which is "some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses". Meaning - a black man in the police force is acting as a tool of klan members (among others), something to do with the race of the singer in this case... But in the larger view of things, the actual meaning behind these lyrics is this: if you are a part of a group, you better open your eyes and accept responsibility for the actions of every single one of the members in it... the anarchist point is that they look only on the negative side of organizations here, and not the positive - the police limit crime (no one can stop it alltogether), along with all their fuckups.
In this way, this song promotes democracy, and a sensible order to things as opposed to a blind acceptance of the world which most people hold. Join a group of people, but be sure to remember that your hands are not clean, even when trying to clean up the mess that things are. A price of freedom is constant vigilance, first and foremost be vigilant of your own actions.
"Fuck you I won't do what you told me" can then be interperted not as blind, angry defiance of authority, but rather accepting the consequences of your choices - even if that means going to jail for not following a policeman's orders. And even so - this does has an anarchist message, saying that the price of liberty would be giving up order at times.
Post-Socrates philosophy, if you take it to it's conclusion (that Socrates is good for a society where everyone is equal, but this is not the case in the real world). Don't you love how simple lyrics can have a very deep meaning? |

If I'm not mistaken.. which I'm pretty sure I'm not. Rage has been quiet because they are done for. The lead singer decided to do other things and the band was replaced by Audioslave with Cornell as the lead singer.
Too bad really.. rage kicks audioslaves ass tenfold. |

Yes, but Rage reunited this year to play a series of shows...I think at least 3 in the U.S. Coachella, Rock the Bells, and Vegoose. With all the original members. |

indeed
zach left to explore more hip hop territories...
RATM is definitely one of my favourite band, i loved the way they used analogic instruments to create electronic-like sounds.
and indeed, audioslave is just your everyday rock band compared to the real RATM!

RATM kicked ass. Audioslave is something I don't really like, not half as distinctive as what RATM was.

No escape from the mass mind rape
Play it again jack and then rewind the tape
And then play it again and again and again
Until ya mind is locked in
Believin' all the lies that they're tellin' ya
Buyin' all the products that they're sellin' ya
They say jump and ya say how high
Ya brain-dead
Ya gotta fuckin' bullet in ya head
