What do you think about listening to net radios like:
HBR1-
http://www.hbr1.com/
,
Psychedelik.com-
http://psychedelik.com/
etc.
Can you compair it to mp3 downloading and does it damage the scene in your opinion?
Its the vibe that matters. |

you an certainly compare it to mp3 downloading, you will see there is little in common between them whilst i don't honestly know the legal status of interent radio stations i don't see how they are any different for the artists than conventional radio. The key point always with a radio station is that _you_ are not the one who chooses the music right?

...official it isn t comparable to downlaoding, cause you can t choose which tracks u like to have and cause it isn t possible to get the track on your hd without further software...
some years ago i d like to do one too ( hosted in switzerland ). due to the fact that i had to pay an amount to the government ( ..."radio-law" ) and that i had to ask the artists about permission too,it was becoming too costly...so we did only a very small one only for friends...hehe...

no..... i dont think you can comair it at all!
those to radio exsamples are payng money to keep the station with a legal lisence (not every station).
and tom anteater,
if you're sayng that... then whats the difference between radio on the internet or radio in your sterio?
you cant get the songs... you can record it to your computer in a low quality just like you can do on a tape in your sterio...
i cant see any match between mp3 dl or net radio station...

I know some radio stations do pay the artists (hallucinogenic, di, maybe even philosomatika), and are supported by paypal donations.
So you do pay for it after all.

Hello,
I'm Bertrand from PsychedeliK.com.
In my opinion, mp3 DLing and mp3 streaming don't have the same results.
Quality can be good, we provide 128kbps, 44 khz in stereo, and feedback are positive.
And you can find webradio streams at 160 kbps if you want.
But, would you get a 128 kbps mp3 by DL or create a 128 kbps mp3 from a stream capture (which in not a .mp3 file)?
Or maybe would you get the CD?
Choice is limited compare to the PeerToPeer network because you're listening to a playlist in a streaming player. But the diversity and freshness exists with the help of partners.
DJ Sets have "new" tracks in the playlist but they are mixed together.
I think that trance webradios are trying to work for and/or with the scene, after it's only a question of respect and confidence.
In France, you have to work with the SACEM, a company managing the author's rights. They care more about mp3 DLing than streaming but they care about webcasting contracts.
I know only a few psytrance webradios, I think that all the teams try to respect the artists and their tracks, to promote them and the DJs who play trance music as well as we can.
And if we don't, I hope they will tell us!
This summer will be PsychedeliK |
