He will be missed greatly, and yet his works will still touch people for centuries to come. |

form the article:
Hofmann was disappointed when his discovery was removed from commercial distribution. He remained convinced that the drug had the potential to counter the psychological problems induced by “materialism, alienation from nature through industrialisation and increasing urbanisation, lack of satisfaction in professional employment in a mechanised, lifeless working world, ennui and purposelessness in wealthy, saturated society, and lack of a religious, nurturing, and meaningful philosophical foundation of life”.

@ Zinduka: that was one of the first comments on the Digg link. And I completely agree with it.
@ Hidro: old age - he was 102!! I saw a piece about this yesterday morning on Reddit, but the OP (original poster) didnt have any proof other than his mother was one of Dr H's caretakers and that he passed peacefully. I waited till a major news outlet had info before I posted it here.
But I guess messing with large amounts of the stuff over many years doesn't shorten your lifespan - directly, at least. |

(Sing along to: "God Bless America")
God bless Dr. Albert Hofmann,
The man that I love.
He shared his wisdom, and we had visions
through the dark trance night with a progressive light not in dub.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, we dance to psy
God bless Albert Hofmann,
His sweet vision will never die.

Kind of Ironic that he lived to be a 102.
And they say dropping lsd is bad for your health?
