I accidentally discovered that Venom VB303 outputs its sequences as MIDI. I told the developer and he said, 'It outputs MIDI?!'

Ive been looking for a simple sequencer for basslines, without any features except mono 16th note output with note-length control.

VB303 also has an auto-advance control like ABL2.

Turn off the audio, send MIDI to the bass, mute (if you like) 1st, 5th, 9th, and 13th steps. Activate 'alt prog'.

Click 16 times on whatever notes.

thats neat man! to complex for something i would like to do live though :/but it also depends if are you making a new track from scratch in the live or playing tracks made in the studio in the live.

still man thats really neat i didn't know vb303 had that ability
