I have been running Alesis Monitor Ones (+RA100!) forever..
>Would it be a mistake to update with KRKs for example?
>Or shouldn't I bother?

KRK RP6 Rokit (749$AU)
or the new:
KRK RP6 G2 Rokit (799$AU)

Anyone have a listen with the G2?

I would love a pair of Adams but I just cant afford it. The Budget is less than 1k

My roommate has KRK rokit 6, which are far less precise but warmer.

Do you feel you NEED an upgrade ?
Do you feel restricted by your speakers ?

If not, save your money for really good ones one day like Elad said. The KRK (imo) will not be such a big upgrade to your sound. Maybe do some acoustics in your room, that'll make a difference.

Fostex PM1 mk2 | love the minimal look to. A contender indeed

Elad
Not worth selling the M1s - Ill most likely keep them.

Partzi
- Been so long.. thought it time for an upgrade; the g2 just recently caught my attention - thinking the new technology might have improved over my M1s
- RA100 Amp is old and now justifiably noisy after years of use (I release I could just get a new amp)
- Moving to a smaller place; hence getting rid of the amp would be one less thing to carry and worry about/ just my thoughts

Yeah I side with Elad and say save up and get better monitors. It's a bit more money but a very great investment into your music and for a long time too           -------------- Dark & Twisted Night Psy --------------

well if not selling for sure , id do acoustic room with the money.. 500$ is planty for that..

i think is that the krk are just diffrent not really better , therefor might have little benefit out of it but wouldnt say real upgrade.

fostex btw will be upgrade little bit imo.. they are flat more then most 'budget' monitors.

Yes, if you have no acoustic treatment, do not hesitate & spend the money on it!

If your room is treated, I suggest saving the money & wait until you can buy better monitors. Hold out as long as you can and make the big leap, rather than making lots of small ones.           Keep The Faith,
