Is there any sites...tutorials, anything that can teach me how to use cubase? That thing is too damn hard to learn.

Get the AskVideo Cubase tutorial videos, I spent a weekend with them and got the hang of Cubase very quickly.

cubase 5

and it worked, thanks...

Does anyone here uses g-sonique renegade for the basslines?

Maybe I should try to learn the basics before jumping to music production no?

No, but I use Renegade for leads. G-Sonique's Alien 303 is good for entry level bass design.

theres a function in cubase 5 called "Quick Controls"
before you start tweeking stuff its worth setting these up with a controller keyboard

1this will then let you have a generic setting for each channel you make in cubase with up to 8 parameters of your choice
to set up

you can watch a few basic cubase 5 vid's here.
also ask vidos is nice, i seen all the 5 tutorials and they explain most of it, then there is a macprovideo video, on basic cubase operation and a mastering in cubase video, using just the inbuilt cubase plugin's, its not the right way to master ur tracks, but atleast it will make your sound presentable.

i had the same problem like u a month ago, i didnt know where to start. The best thing to do is read the manual, it helps in understanding things faster, then start watching videos, that process helped me alot. Im no expert on cubase, but within a months time im fairly familiar with alot of the things cubase has to offer.

just some advice, completely from my own point of view only.

Sorry to bothering you guys, but i have a few questions.

I've been following some tips of the cubaseguru tutorial

And now i have some questions...

To do all the drums(hi hats, open hi hats etc) what vsts do you use? in his video he uses kontakt,Any free goods vst's out there?

2nd question is about workspace:

first is from the video

2nd its mine... as you can see its a bit different... dont know about this feature.(maybe its only the zoom in and out, thing?????)

3rd: when you have samples and you want to add it in the midi channels you cant add it,because there is no virtual instrument assigned to it right?

I suggest to use audio channels for everything. Cubase is ideal for that.

Kontakt is realy not so good unless you have a good kontakt library and even then i would render the loop and use it in audio channel as .wav .

You can add samples that way too. I use the pool.           http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers
