Heres my problem. i would like to make a remix of benni benassi illusion, so i got the acapella and my track is 138 bpm,
is there a way to stretch that acapella exactly to 138 bpm??
i use cubase 5

lets say i find out the BMP of the original, how can i stretch that acapella to match my 138 bpm track.

I use cubase 4, so I don't know if things have improved in 5, but in my version, it's possible with the Time Stretch feature, but the results are usually quite poor if it's more than a few bpm either way. Ableton is capable of MUCH better results, but then as I mentioned, I don't know if Cubase 5 has improved this feature.

You can find time stretch by importing the file on an audio track, then right click on it and under 'process' you should find 'time stretch'. In the time stretch box you can also choose different algorythms, for speech or percussion or so on, choose the most appropriate one and enter original bpm and the bpm you want afterwards. Pretty simple, but as mentioned, results can vary.

Good luck to you! But my advice is still to use ableton for this, that's what I do, rewired into cubase           www.soundcloud.com/vonoom | www.vonoom.bandcamp.com | www.facebook.com/vonoom | www.flikflakfamily.com

I use ableton to stretch and align samples when the default stetch in FL doesnt work nicely.

Ableton is awesome for being able to line up the beat markers.           www.soundcloud.com/za-pagan

i am not a cubase user but what i could suggest u is u get a slicer vst and den chop the original acapella into small loops of like 10 seconds each and den load those samples into the slicer.

this will help u match the vocals to the exact tempo of ur track.

hope it helps bro!
