Question on some bass patches

Hi all,

Lately I've been trying to experiment with getting a less full on bass. I'm after something a bit more "organic" like some Goa. I have a few bass patch examples I've been trying to get close to that I'd love some thoughts on.

First in this song is an apparently square bass. However, I'm really enamored by the "flabby" sound this bass has. I'd like to know how to achieve this "flabby" almost "blown out" quality to the sound. I'm also impressed how the flanger in this tune seems very "directed" and not randomly timed, not sure how that's achieved so succinctly.

Another fairly organic bass sound is in this next tune. The bass is obviously distorted, but I'm not quite sure how. The patch has a bit of "hair" to it and the bassline sort of breathes along. What gives it this driving quality while not washing out the kick?

Thanks all
