dude the sequencer is touch screen if u didnt watch the video and if u do some reading on its sequencer you'll notice that you'll be able to do alot more from it, ur inputing notes not midi if u notice the video aswell, its sequencer was very different and ahead of its time quite honestly the fairlight is king!

no fl or orion wont do the same as the fairlight
you'd have to know more bout the fairlight in order to understand my question no offense but it seems u dont really know much about it...... and just cus its old dont mean its crappy read about it and you'll understand why its king i want one sooo bad its a beautyful machine and the converters on that piec are gritty and just superb!!!

LOL yes we have, but some old stuff just got soul and to be honest i don't buy new stuff anymore just vintage, aside from the hardsid4u
which i plan on getting next year
most of the stuff coming out now days are just kinda recycle stuff, the neuron was one of the last machines that offer different sound, possibilities and just that soul of a unique machine, cheers mate

i agree to a certain degree sometimes technology can make a new genre pop out, theres certain machines that contributed to a certain style of music so technology does play a role, cheers buddy

Sorry i thought you were interested in the way its sequencer works - not the way you input data on it! If that's what you lookin for tthen why don't you buy yourself a touchscreen to use with the sequencer of your choice?
Fairlight's sequencer indeed works like any common pattern sequencer. Check the pic and tell me why it's any different:

And what do you mean by "inputing notes not midi"? because there's no piano roll? I tthink you have misunderstood the way it works - and no i dind't bother to wattch the vids you posted - i've watched my share of fairlight videos ages ago. Anyway...
Cheers!

well.. i think fiarlight was the first computer generated sampler/pattern based sequencer that had some nice sample mangling abilities nothing really special by today's standards very impressive for the time non the less!

Sorry, don't know much about touchscreens. I think you can get a small one without spending a fortune though (maybe use it as a secondary for sequencing only) but sizes like 20'' could be very pricey.
