'm pretty new to the trance music so please excuse my ignorance but i wont know if i dont ask so here goes:
what is the difference between goa trance and psy-trance? and what is minimal?

goa trance - lots of acid riffs, 303's, old sounding, eastern influences.
psy-trance - modern sounding, psychedlic, emphasis on basslines, percussions, and sounds.
minimal - (boom tss boom tss) i.e. emphasis on basslines and percussion. If you hear a melody please e-mail me...

About new and old...
Well, there is this radio station called "philosomatika", and they broadcast "new" trance, so once it decided that a radiostation on the internet must be a good thing, so i decided to tune in... I swear, the computer almost jumped out of the nearby window all by itself to commit a painful suicudal attempt. Lucky him, i was nearby and managed to stop him. Later on that almost-tragic day, i have found out that what i had heard was so called "minimal trance",
to tell you the truth, the appearence of "minimal trance on the scene, is truly the first evolutionary process which seems to have backfired, meaning that it's a "repressive revolution" meaning that goa trance, which came about 8-9 years before minimal, is still much more highly evolved, hypothetically, it's a lot like, when you had techno, which was a monkey, then you get "goa" which is a human, then you get a "super human" which is psytrance, and then you go all the way back to being a monkey again, which is "minimal trance"

and i qoute someone who i dont remember his name

and minimal is simply, minimal... its kinda crappy, but thats just my point of view...
i think minimalistic trance is giving trance a bad name... that and nitzhonot ;) |

guys, can you please help me give examples to Tal, so he could listen and get a better idea of what we're talking about? one BOOM = 1,000 words.
I'm really bad at genres and i wouldn't know what to call what, so...
about that good bad old new. old is good cuz it's what got you here, to listen to the new stuff. :)
