I would like to know how to create a question and answer with lead and percussion as Upvas sent..

a easy way is first you make a lead with good ryhtm and melodie like usual... then you explode the midi line in 2 or 3 or 4 track with each a different synth patch, then you choose what note of the inital melodie each track play.. you can change octave ,adjust note size ,play harmony what ever you want and sound right with the patchs used. not sure it s clear..

The wonderfullest example of this is imo
find in the works of JS Bach in the Fuge of his Toccata BWV 565:
Listen from 3:57-4:52

For me these phrases are realy spiritual...

I wish to see Zakkir Hussain in Hamburg again I saw him with Shakti in 2004 or 2003 winter was amazing and very musical/spiritual ceremony.Unforgettable.

Nice Zakir Rules!! .. Tabla is the only percussion instrument (if i am correct or one of the few .. ) which can talk ..as in which can play all 12 Notes .. other perc instruments have tones like congo, bongo, djembe etc..

hello is it possible someone to explain in theory the question & answer people use in their music?

If i get u correct in Psy you can place your notes(keeping 1 scale in mind) with different arrangements in Bars..

for example.. C D D# could be question & G D# D could be the answer .. u can play around with notes .. go up & down in notes/octaves to find your best hooks or story

That depends on how you look at it, bongos, Congas, Djembe, Tabla, they all have to be tuned... and you can make melody with them,
Questions and answers make up a lot of the story of a good track. Phrasing with melody is one way, you can also phrase with rhythm, even kick bass... listen to someone asking you a question, listen carefully to how he or she is asking, then listen to your reply, again carefully, now take the vibe from each and make it into something that sounds good in your track.           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

true that but message would be more clear with the medium of melodies or chords/rhytms (whole music) i feel percs are less effective wen it comes to messages or story.. Percs fill more of the groove .. and same goes for Tabla >> its called TAAL(indian word)when they practice tabla its a whole-sole instrument to have all Notes "not the tones" !! i can play a little bit.. i also have 2 djembes 1 low & 1 high !!           Look Around You - EP Out Now on (Planet Ben records)

Hey Karma Kontakt interesting post about tabla. I know what you mean with it , just curious isn'T it 9 or 10 notes? Of course bongo and most membranophones is 'noise' or a sound without tonality a short sound. And tabla got the indian notes but thats not 12 like ina european scale .. dunno sa ri ga ma pa dha ni I guess or is it wrong? Maybe someone can clearify this..
.. lots of riddims for tabla sounds different like more notes. I'd be interested in getting more infos about it..sounds like for fingers maybe sa ri ga ma pa.. and for palm sound like thom tham and stuff

this is psytrance!

mesage and answer doesn't need to be with particular sound or drum or whatever. this is not the correct thought process for electronic psychedelic music in my opinion.

the question answer here should be of a thought, an idea, sound.

think more in 4D!

make your whole track talk, everything is a flow, a constant question, answer, tension, release... this is storytelling for me.

IMO only with music theory a deep there than it is really 4d.. just colours are 3 d hehe.
The right combination of notes form the most psychedelic sounds and moods ,add an acid sound colour as vesture to such melos and it's a really unique flight for sure.

+ Same pattern different note + Some times change 1 of the notes 'Up or down' (Not all the pattern - Just here and there) For this kind of point . (1-2-3 Different Vst's runing on the same pattern will be great too (Not have to be 1x1 But sure will bring in much more colors , Levels , Space and deepness)

Sure put/Make track be sound more interesting .

yes you are right its Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa - but thats just the SARGAM (kind of C to C) to practice Indian Classical Music .. and its very deep when it comes to study or reading classical music .. But in table your hands does all the magic .. in tabla the right technique of using your palm, fingers, strokes can play more than 20 sounds may be ...

the combination of scales & pitch all comes mainly from singing first & than the instruments compliment the same.. if you listen to ravi shankar(sitar), hari prasad chauraisya(flute) , nusrat fateh ali khan(singing) you can hear lot of Real Pitch Modulation going on in there singing or instruments.. Its amazing !!
