Hi,

I'm considering buying my first analog synth, and I think I'll get the Moog LP Stage 2 Edition.

I'm looking for warm sounds (of course, geez), but also for mean & agressive leads & bass.

Out of curiosity, is the lead that appears at 00:06 in Justice - Phantom Part II the kind of sound I can hope to have with a LP ?

Sorry, I know that this isn't much related with psytrance, but the only "commercial" orientend board I know is tranceaddict.com, and I just hate the athmosphere on this site.

If it's really too out of topic, I'll delete my post, otherwise thanks for your help

Dunno that track you are mentioning but I do know that you certainly will have all kinds of warm sounds. I played with a little Phatty and apart from making a warm fuzzy and beautiful bassline in seconds, at the same time you can make that sucker scream... if you have the $1300 go for it. You will not be disapointed!

PS: It is on my list and will likely be my next aquisition

I have a little phatty stage I that I need to sell (I need the money at the moment), probably like $900, contact me if you are interested.

It sounds great, I'll probably buy another once my finances are back together.

I just discovered the Prophet '08, is it true to say that it can do basically anything the LP can do (and more) ?

I'm considering getting it instead of the Moog, not that much more expensive...

There is already a topic on the prophet, not too much discussion in there though, but search for it anyways.

Alright then, the LP it is then (one of the reason I'm buying it is to have something easier than my Virus to learn synthetisis on).

Maybe the Prophet 08 will be the next one, who knows

One last question, does the bass sound that start at 00:16 of the video on the following link is the kind of thing that the LP is good at ?

Thanks guys !

...man, waiting for it to arrive is going to kill me.

Yes. No other synth in the price range can beat the oscillators on the LP. I'm so glad Moog decided to make something more affordable.           You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me?
