Hello guys, im working on a fullon track with fullon style bass ect. I am useing Muon Tau 1 and can get the bassline sounding nice but..

When close to speaker or in headfones, the bassline doesent sound 'plucky' enough, if you get me. It sounds too whiny, asif its gliding from note to note. How can i fix this?

Also on Muon Tau, how can i use glide effectivly to make that eskimo style pitchshift on the note up a few octaves? When i try it 'does' shift up about a semitone, and thats when the second overlapping note is an octave higher than the note im trying to shift..

Any pictures or small video would be great help, thanks guys.           The dancing ones were thought to be mad, by the ones that couldent hear the music

Hmmm, sounds like you need to reduce the decay/release on the bass

I'd like to have a listen to the bassline tho            http://soundcloud.com/meat-battery/

Make sure your attack is at 0 too.

If adjusting the envelope parameters doesn't get it, you can always bounce to audio and edit that.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

The muon Tau you need to set the note lenght to 64th
to get that snappy plucky sound... also raise the filter to let through some more high freq, experiment with filter slope, 18, 24 or 36...

so try shorten the note lenght alot! and just to be safe turn off glide, but i dont think it does anything when notes arent overlapped..

Btw Ascension the muon tau dont have a attack knob, it has envelope generator mod and decay

- make a short decay
- don't cut the highs too much
- make the glide shorter
- make notes shorter unless you want to glide it
- don't use the arpegiator of the vsti
- don't put your head near the speaker while playing loud makes you deaf and you shouldn't hear any base there           http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers

Here is sample of my kick and bass ect, the bassline sounds ok, but up close or in headphones it has that weezy sound, the bassnote feel like they are gliding..

no decay, not too much cutoff ect. Bass note lenght are short, but any shorter and the bass sound will be ruined. Any ideas? Or is it a case of just adding more to my track then the weezy thing wont be heard?

Should i change the percussion atall?

And in Muon Tau, how can i do eskimo style glide on note, going up? in fl-studio, you know like the note pitchshift thingy?

thanks           The dancing ones were thought to be mad, by the ones that couldent hear the music

Your bass is good, but if you want it punchier, put less decay and more mod. Try shorter notes also.          http://www.myspace.com/psyrit

from what i here is :
less decay/sustain
shorter notes and
your turn your bass volume a lil lower its quiet high compared to the kick and
mayb some multiband compression here would make it sound killa!
