as far as i know,
you cant play in batery different pitch
for a sample on different keys, because eacch
key is assigned to a speciefic smaple...
what you can do is load the same sample
into a few different keys, and pitch up or
down the the samples you want. |

Noooo, that's not correct.
you can play anything what usual sampler can
So...
First you load your bass sample, and then find some parametar called key range..
There you use your mouse to stretch key range of sample for as many notes you want , for example 12 notes for full octave.
...also you can route your bass sample to special midi chanel (on battery) so it won't take up your keys in drum kit chanell and also route it to special output chanell for aditional processing.
Hope this helps
Enjoy

maybe A little of topic, but i think that battery's a sampler vsti designed for percussion samples.. so my humble advice is to use software synths to produce basslines, personally i recommend , albino, muon tau pro, tritium, vb-1 , and trilogy if u can get ur hands on that one, its a softsynth based on bass samples..
peace brother.
