I have been seriously thinking about getting one of these gadgets from novation, like X-station or more likely Xiosynth (great price). I make music with a laptop and have many problems right now with space, so the idea of having a midi controller, hardware synth, midi and audio interface is really attractive. But i have my doubts about how well these devices actually perform! Somehow all going through a Usb cable is atractive but at the same time makes me much suspicious. Is the audio stream from the hardware synth reliable?? does doing this take a toll on cpu or ram??? Also , can other souncards can be used, because of course in Cubase ( I use) the Asio will be taken over by the new device?
Please if anybody has any advice i be grateful. im planning to buy soon, or else ill spend my money on parting..
cheers!

i dont have a clue....
but generally i also think usb is something unstable...
but with usb 2 things is better...
i know Adrenal Mode knows a thing or two about the X-station...
im sure that you can find some reliable product...
