i've been thinking of upgrading from my old technics dj-1600s, but i'm not sure if it would be worth it since they're pretty decent. anyone know if something around 200 dollars would be worth it? could probably sell the old ones though..
i use headphones alot for producing too. |

Grado is also a brand with great sound-quality, but quite a price-tag.
I've heard that it's only the topmodels (think they're called 325 and 125 or something in that way) that are of any interrest concerning the sound-quality.
Having said that they have a great sound, they also have a tendency to break pretty easy (not that I have any personal experience with this, still only a thing I've heard previously).
I've also read that electro-static headphones should be the most accurate (Atleast in theory), as the impulses are handled in a completely different way (Running on a higher frequency) and therefore offers much more space left to any form of sound-reproduction...

Beyerdynamic DT-770 PRO
  Nocturnal Wizardz Recs
Bhooteshwara Records
Cubasing is like Freebasing, just with audio.
Both cost more than you can afford, and leaves you sitting in a dark room with no life, craving for more. |

Ok. After reading reviews and user forums for days I was able to narrow it down to 2 headphones, AKG K271 or BeyerDynamics DT 770 PRO.
Still havent made my mind yet.
BTW, there are a lot of negative reviews on AKG K601 and K701 series. Just wanted to let you guys know.
have fun,

I ve been to four different stores and all told me that Sennhieser are good for DJing not for studio and mixing.
AKG suppose to be good (not 601 or 701). I guess I ll be going with AKG K271 and let you guys know my findings after buring them 100 hours so.
peace
