I previously post a topic on “Sound Proof” for my new apartment (because I didn’t want to disturb my neighbors in the middle of the night. They might not appreciate the music that I like). It looks like this will be a very expensive project. So, I decided to get quality studio headphones that will not cut off the needed frequencies, instead.
Any suggestions on headphones? Anywhere between $300 USD - $1000 USD.
Thanks for your advice in advance.

A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life. |

I really like my MB-Quart QP-805's
they are closed so no leakage for recording,
but they have good bass detail... not like most closed headphones.
and you cant break them!
even jumping on them on stage is sweet |

If you want to work with headphones, understand its important to do your mix on studio monitors..
Otherwise I'd use any pair of headphones that are relatively isolating, I use a $20 pair of Sony "Studio" Headphones and my $100 Sony MDR-V700's (not sure if the name is right, something like that) as well.. |

AKG K601/K701... brandnew technology, and looks very promising. As you are planing on spending a little more, be sure to have a look into these.
They are a bit expensive (over 300eur I think), but as far as I know AKG ... they dont make crap ...

K601: http://www.akg.com/products//powerslave,id,910,pid,910,mynodeid,214,_language,EN.html
K701:

On the other hand... also trust your ears, and if you can afford even more... then try to get several pairs of headphones from different manufacturers and of different price categories... |
