quality of psychedelic music today... your opinion?

there is just too much music out there
every day there is a new artist launching an album, not taking into consideration the quality of music
the number of good releases has been somewhat constant
i'm just glad the chinese have not taken to psytrance ... imagine mass production

With all the bullshit out there i still can't find any dancefloor music that makes me dance like never before...Most of the music i hear is flat has no perspective, no story and for sure far away from being psychedelic...I think that todays producers work with there mind and not with there hearth, there is so much new equipment, so many combinations but all i can hear is the same loops over and over again! Were is the orginiality we all seek in music? How can we be part of something we don't like? There is not too much music at all, in fact keeping in min the the psychedelic expression in music there is no psychedelic music at all! I am amazed how people who pass through a psychedelic experience can then dance to todays music!
Sure enough time will pass and new music will come hopefully better and stronger than before! But we are all still working and waiting for the sound that will unite the people into a strong dancefloor mayhem, dancing building up a ball of energy that will make us all explode into a new level of consiousness!

I would still contend that this has more to do with the way modern pys is mixed more than anything.
Music based around a 16th note baseline with no notes on the down beat, then moved up to stand out in the mix of course is going to produce a genre of music that mostly sounds the same.
I see the advertisement for bluetech in the corner...if you took his amazing music and put a psy baseline under it and moved it up in the mix, his stuff would all sound the same too even with the same lovely sounds he gets.

jus keep ur ears n eyes open ..n u'll find it
but yes... there is a hell lot of bad music being produced as well that is appreciated more....

Says who? There are so many dfferent vibes that are all nder the "psychedelic trance" umbrella, that what some people find extremely moving for the mind and the body, yet the same tunes are considered as plain, crap by others.
Its all very subjective, it does not mean you have to accept it, you know what you like, but talking and arguing about it is useless.

its simply amazing. the other day a neighbor of mine farted and beethovens fifth came out arpeggiated with these really cool accents on top and you know what!? the burrito he had for lunch provided yet more accompianment!.
i am ALL about the spontanous body music |

the problem in now all young freaks can do full on, just using the recipe of full bassline, and crazy sounds, rockies sounds very bad at the begining but some years later working on a computer thinking they gona be famous, results in some cases teire music sounds nice, maybe they dont know what is psychedelic at all but they music sounds "well"
i think full on is the best of best when is authentic
but in last years peple abuses of the bassline liek eskimo or that things who use the full bassline and the 145 bpm to sound crazy speedy agresive, also skazi |

There's a recipe for all genres of psy. You could complain about all new dark that comes out using the same scratchy sounds. Most cheese/crappy full-on out now is coming from veteran producers, not new ones. Saying that people simply use the same full-on bassline means nothing, all you are saying is that you don't like it. It takes a while to create a different sounding bassline (and another while to make it sound good) so expecting new producers to do something different (and good) is pretty far fetched.

I am overwhelmed with good music. I can hardly keep up with it. If you aren't finding anything worth hearing... keep digging. I don't think there has ever been a period of time when we have had so many musical choices available to us!
