u no how the quadrafuzz is sick for basslines to change its character in a certain band...what can i use on a mac as an alternative....

Izotope Trash is worth a go, although it is multiband, it is very different sounding - but then all distos are a bit different.
You'll be wanting to turn the amp, compressor, delay and filtering sections of, and just get evil with the distortion mode - and there are many to choose from!
CPU usage is high, but worth it.
