The only thing i disslike abot quadrafuzz is what it does to the lowend.
Under about 100hz i mostly don't like what it does to these frequencies.
But i havent found a solution for that till now...
But i still use it very much on basslines

She's certainly a hard to control bitch... but i haven't found another way to give the bassline that tightness in the sound, any help on how to achieve that hammering character without it? BBE is good but not the same. |

i feel the same: what i do about that is: i send a pre fader out to a group, insert qf here, high pass the chanel with a good sounding filter (eg. filtroid) or eq (sonnox). on the original channel i eq out the mid freq a little so the balance of the sound is not shifted towards the mid/highs..
then i add together both channels in one group with gentle compression to make it sound more homogeneous..
sometimes i use a little stereo enhancement on the qf channel which only contains mids/highs anyways.. makes the bl cut through the mix nicely..
a mix knob to decide how much of the signal is processed would be nice for the qf.. |

when i use it i set the bands with the bassline playing then insert it in a send ,mix it with the dry signal and play with the bands level, you have the nice thing hapening in the dynamics without too much digital distortion that is not sublte enought when used totaly wet on the signal imo and it gives you a lot more options to shape your sound ,definelty sound better to me |

I always find quadrafuzz to really mess up the nice 'sawy' character of a saw oscillator. |
