in sf4.xx tools->synthesis. (in other ver. of sf - it is located somewhere else, but it should be in the same menu with fourier analysis, in wavelab it is also somewhere)
choose sine wave. length - 30-45 sec i don't remember the exact clicks, but you can make a freq slide from low to high, and you can specify them.{maybe its "start/end" frequency, and the slide should be linear, not logarithmic}
choose low freq - 18hz ( a bit below usual human sense) the high freq - 22500 hz ( a bit above usual human sense) that's it. normalize it to 0 db. save it. burn it on a CD. tell me if you have probems with this ....

i've checked out the screenshots (for accuracy) sf v.4.5 create new empty file. go: Tools->Synthesis->FM. wave type - Sine length 40 sec. frequency - 18 Hz. now - press OK. now select the entire file.
go: effects, pitch - bend
now is the tricky part. this old version has no normal freq slide, so we use the fact that sf4.5 can synthesize upto 22050 hz. this slide 16 - 22050 is more than 8 octaves. i'd say 10-11 octaves. octave is 12 semitones. the maximum pitch bend is 24 semitones [2 octaves]. therefore you have to apply this bend on the file 5-6 times. here we go: set range - to the maximum (24) on the left point to 0 pitch bend (exactly 0) on the right - to the maximum.
apply it 5-6 times.
if you get too short a file - make the original wave longer.
listen, you caught me in unawares :) i didn't play with sf for more than a year.
in the newer versions you have a more convenient way of hacking a frequency slide.

bilbo your advise was to me than. i used the 3 ready made samples you have already in soundforge 5.0,cause i got messed with creating one as well.
here it is:
open a new file. go to F.M synthesis in the uppermost column of the F.M subscreen you have : test tone swifts 20-280Hz 300-4000Hz 4.5-22KHz
I used this when i went to check the M.
