Hey fellow beatmakers and psy-fans.
Here's a track I've been working on for a while. I called it the kookaburra laughs becuz one of the FM synths in the track sounds a bit like a Kookaburra (an aussie bird, for those not in the know)
It's the first 4 minutes of the track, the final version isn't ready yet! I just wanted to get some feedback on it.
Please give it a rating out of ten and tell me some things you thought could have been done better.
The ambient intro is probably my favorite bit because i got make some crazy synth patches!
I work in Cubase SX3
If anyone wants to ask "how did you do that"
I'd be happy to answer it!
http://members.optusnet.com.au/dexium/ it's here (192k MP3)
thanks psy-peeps! |

great intro, really really nice....
Love the bassline, very funky. It's all very good quality so far. I like the Kookaburra sound alot too . Nice band pass filter shaping about 3/4 of the way through too.
Not sure I like the bassline at that part though. I think it might just need more to go with it to make it seem like it fits better. The bassline isn't bad but I just think it doesn't fit with the other sounds, during the bandpass formant filter thingy. I really like where your are taking it at the end. You've got a great start, make sure to finish it.

Thanks E.n.T and Robo.
who else can give me some feedback, eh?
a few stats about this track:
50 seperate layers
3 basslines
100 percussion samples (using Linplug RMIV)
The intro was created with my own Absinth patches (9 of them - one layer)
the bassline was created with 2 Audiorealism Basslines with a bit of native distortion, some sidechained compression and quadrafuzz default.
The kick was created from scratch and EQ'd to emphasize the first 5 harmonics of C (the key).
Most of the Lead synths were created with Albino (poor man's Virus )
The structure is based on 5 distinct levels of energy.
Seqenced in Cubase SX3
peace!

nice intro
not much a of fullon fan but sounds good
love the into synth the guitarish soundin one
nice melodies sounds like nice good old goa tune
the lead at 2 without bass is KILLER
and it goes on with the bass nice loop as well
like the sound u bring in at about 3 mins maybe the break could be a lil better (just an opinion)
like the sounds after the break nuch more than the ones befor a lot more wicked sounding its got a really nice sound to it and a good score too
thats the fv part of the trak for me from 3 59 to 438
the melody after that is nice too bu not exactly to my tastes ( the melodies are very pleasing to the ear but the sounds are very happy/ morning)
but its a good powerful fullon track mate a smasher
keep i up
Review mine..??
keep it up and |
