Ok this time while working on my...huh? wtf? again?! i think there is a new spell checking system here... and for some reason it doesn't acknowledge words like ok?!? err... never mind...

Anyway, this time on my track what i did is i began working on the parts... i mean i first created about five Leads, a couple of spirals, some percussions loops, Couple of baselines, etc. and what i want to do is put the peaces together to create a track instead of working on the whole track from 0 and getting lost in it a thousand times....

now iv always had a problem of how to actually construct the track, and i thought it would be easier now but its not, i just cant make a story come out from all the pieces. and I'm getting kinda desperate here, its 2 years already, iv overcame so many obstacles, and i got many things going good, my sound is clean my leads are scratchy my baseline is pumping, but fuck!!! i just cant do with it anything!!!

waiting for ur wisdom u guys....

thx

In your situation where you have created loops of things you want to put in the track first, I think you'd have trouble making the little changes needed to signify the end of sections.

What I would do is make empty 16/32 bar midi parts along the top of the arrange page, label them intro, breakdown, section 1, breakdown.. whatever, put them in the order you want where you can visually see what you want to happen to the track, then build it using that guideline.

depends on what kind of musician you are and what kind of music you want to do...

If you want to do music just for fun and meaninglessness is no problem for you, just make something like an intro, than beats and grooves, then first melodic or driving leads, break, beats and basslines progression, break, second melodic or driving leads (doesn't matter if it fits just use enought lifts and explosions to hide the senselessnes) bring it up up up, last big break and the final bring the best idea of all and finish with beats and groove.
And voila you sound like everybody.

If you want to express something, tell a story about you... you need to know the story first.
-> try to find out what your SONG is or should be ABOUT, once you find the connection from your live, from you, to the feelings in your different parts start arranging them just by listening to your heart and use your head and the knowledge of the deeper "about theme" of the song to help you observe what the heart wants to do. This is to give the song a good reflection to make it even more honest.

Thats how I do it, for expressive, emotional music.

I can't help you for other kinds of music. Maybe others can.

the idea of producing parts first sounds very weird...kinda like building walls first without any idea how the house should look like in the end, and then trying to put them together to something house-like somehow - this will never work. maybe you are making those parts without an idea in your head, or without a story in mind, how subconsciousmind wrote, i don't know.

start with some sound that triggers your imagination...and proceed from there. there is no use in making a tune when you have no idea what you actually want to do.           Anakoluth A Pebble in Your Eardrum's Shoe since 2001!

try taking a track that you like and import it right into the daw. then just section it off and copy the structure.

Also remember that you don't necessarily need to have a full idea in mind when you make a song. Alot of times when I don't know what I want to do, I'll pick a part which is my favorite. I'll try to make variations of that part so that it can progress. Then just figure out if you want it to go up or down or just ride there for a while.

Usually if I do something like this I can find out where in the song as a whole I would want that part. Then I can come up with a way to get there, or get out of it. Things that flow with that idea or feeling and move smoothly from part to part. If you think things have been riding for too long maybe do a break down for a moment. Break downs are also helpfull to get you into a new part when it just wouldn't work together as it is. I just try not to over use them, or if I do use many I try and make sure they are intricate and interesting (or at least that is the plan)

It really depends on what you want to do. So I say just pick your favorite part and expand on it. Then try and make it grow from there. If you have other parts you like, then try and figure out how you can get from one thing to the other...

sometimes i do like kedux it help me to stay focused on the story ,it s easier to make a track with a more intellingent progression too and it s faster(for me its the big plus, the faster i make the track the best the story is cause my mood stay the same, not like a track i make in 2 weeks)
Kedux you have to find the workflow that suit you the best, maybe try to use leads and fx that work well together and then build the track around this or try to start with the intro ... when i have problem to built my tack it usally cause i want to sound like someone else or i m not in trance state, the best is too go to a party or to produce a other kind of music ,cause maybe the story you have in mind dont fit with pystrance (can be more abstract with less rules)
