For me the main thing is that these parties are for free and I find this very important for the simple reason that most of the people hearing this music are young and relatively poor. Not everyone can or should pay 30 euros to enjoy the music he/she likes. And one can't accuse others for vanity or wannabe stars on the basis that he/she doesn't know them as djs. I also believe that we can protect the scene and also the universities by ourselves, i.e. the public that attends a party. The universities should belong to the people and not only students, because all people should have the right to education and fun without exclusions based on money or other reasons. As for asking other people who already organise parties in universities for their 'permission' I find this ridiculous and I think many of them would too. This is not a matter of who is more known or older this is a matter of sharring common values. As an example, I give you last weekend's party in Polytexneioupolh which was excellent despite all the things said before the party. It is sad seeing relatively new but also older promoters discouragging newcomers for reasons not adequete imo.

u still dont anderstand what im saying and im not spolling the guys party or trying to..
there are some guys in politexnupoli that give the others the right to do these parties ,like counsils..that belive in something .if they dont give these guys the ok...as they do with the others..they mite go with 150 people and burn the party down..its all about there belifes and they are behind that many years .its like some 1 getting in ure shoes...u understand ...free is welcome...i hope nothing happens there big and destroy every 1 .thats what im saying... |

People are exploiting the asylum that universities provide them.Virava and his friends are not able or dont want to make a party like this anywhere else apart a university.They do it there because they can or to say it more correctly BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY CAN.
Find a couple of friends in the university that will back you up,set up a sound system,some announcements on the internet and there you go you got yourself a free party...
Wouldnt it be interesting if i would go for example today in the University,find some of my 'powerful' friends there from lets say Pasp and decide to take the place for me and my friends and set up a party the same day as Virava and his friends?I mean EVERYBODY can make a free party according to Virava,so who would stop me from cancelling their event there and do my own party?Nobody i guess.
Well things dont work like that you know.You cant just meet a couple of people from a university and make a party there,things are not so simple.Permissions are needed,some people must be informed,there must be a team or an organisation that will set up the whole thing AND PROTECT THE UNIVERSITY in case something bad happens.
What will you and your 4-5 friends will do Virava in case something happens in the university like recently it happened in Thesaloniki when some people entered the area and vandalized the whole building and sent a student to the hospital with serious damage on his head?Are you able to protect the area and the people in it?I bet you dont mate.

Andonis mate dont confuse education with music.
If someone wants to make a free event he can make it in a club,in a mountain,in a park,in his house wherever,he cant just wake up one day and do it in a university just because he thinks so.
According to the Greek Constitution universities are free and belong to the public,this doesnt mean that we can exploit them as we wish,freedom has its limits too you know.You study in school,you do well in examinations and you pass in a University,nobody is asking you any money about that but please dont confuse the university system with the music culture.
YES people must have access to free education and fun but these things dont connect all the times,university is a serious thing not a club for fun.
Stop confusing things mate

DETOX i have talked to people who are responsible for to organize a party in polytechneioupolh and thankfully, you are not one of them.
WE ARE NOT IN PASP OR DAP OR THINGS YOU TALK ABOUT. WE RESERVED A SEPARATE PLACE FOR SATURDAY and we do not have to comply about anything to YOU detox as i told you above.

asylum exists for everything DETOX not only for the reasons YOU believe.
so if we want it, asylum can help and protect our music too!
MOONSUN believe me, i know from first hand this place and persons and what do you have to do to organize a party in there.

almost all of us (organizers) are students!
so DETOX we havent FOUND some "friends" from polytexneio to orgazize a party FOR GOD SHAKE!

So Virava while the university is under a sit in (katalipsi) you managed to speak with the dean (pritanis) or the council (simvoulio) and ask them as an outsider (you are not a student are you?) to organise a party?
How exactly did you RESERVED (the exact word you used) that place and by whom?Even if you are a student there with whom exactly did you speak since the place is under katalipsi?
Since the university belongs to me as much as it belongs to you i think i got the right to ask you such a thing in public right?
P.S Indeed thankfully for you and for many other people i am not responsible for granding licenses for various events that take place in universities.

i fully respect universities and their roles too.
the security of polytechneioupolh wished us good luck with our party and you insist that a free music party in there means that we dont respect the universities.
a party is a positive usage of asylum that is a charecteristic of universities in greece.

No man its not their problem only,its my problem too cause the university belongs to me as much as it belongs to them and you and anyone else in this forum and country.
So when i see something wrong,according to my personal humble judgement and opinion,i step up and say it.
