Do you have any ideas of a good VST alternative for Pultec EQ.

I have had many artists recommending using Pultec for boosting the bassline, but it is UAD plugin and I don't have UAD.

I have Nasty EQ but I am not sure if even that is of a similar quality to Pultec...?

colour tone peq is great für blirring highs..whatever that means

i don t know if you used a emulation already but you can boost and cut at the same freqs and get some unusual curve ,thats a part of the magic of real pultec, how the band interact with each others,that and the color.
i tried a few and to me waves is the most colored and pleasant.i think uad dont even emulate harmonics coloration on this one

Pultec is good and i use it but you can only push 60 or 100hz with it. Try BBE H82, you can choose which frequencies to boost.

on the source i demoed them waves was more colored and analog sounding, softube more clean ,both plugs don t sound the same , their also one from ik multimedia .

guys you have to try the soneq i posted the link of the top of this page..if i rememeber i it s a mix of pultec kind of emu(for the low bands) and api for the rest .i just tried it and on some source this is eq just work so good ,lot of mojo and it sound convincing to me ,at least on the source i just tried it was sounding very analog, amazing for free..

damn i m relisening on a kick bass and i think it s the first time i really like the mojo of a plugin eq like this..love the sound ,the highs and the saturation remind me the sound of a friend desk ,it s just a bit more thin ,less dynamic/depth ,but really impressive it really catch the vibe.
