Hopefully all of us and any other promoters that may read these threads as well, will learn form this.

Think of yourself going to party in SF because you like the big names. So you drive to SF and enter the experience of the audio wonder been pummped ot by thees DJs you know nothing about. you feel the groove for a while and then cutloose before "whoever from brazi" is done unloading his shit. So reallistically, youve broadend your knowledge of muscians and djs...your pouring sweat...you are compelled to thank the last dj for getting you off...,and your headlier is still steady for more floor rockin.

I am having some trouble figuring the SAD into this equasion.
MY SCIENTIFIC EXPERTISE HAS THE ANSWER!!!

my theory: If you take all of the factors listed above...and throw a way the sad factor!!! The result is a fukkin great party with no sad vibes floating around!

Science can solve any problem!!!!!!

well, I come from the outdoor mojave desert scene, where we rarely had any big names or more than 150 people at the party. people just came for the party/community and whatever community dj's associated with it.

I think a lot of people come to psytribe because its a psytribe party......hearing that kind of thing makes me happy

sure big names help promote a party and give you a feel for what kind of music will be played since big names are easier to relate to, I'm all for that. but party crews, like music acts, accrue high respect and solid reputations, and that's what I'm talkin about

factor out sad and replace with *sigh*

I agree totally! I enjoy the close knit family gatherings way more than anything else. I do like to see "Big name" artists, because it's interesting to see how they do it up there. Especially since most of them have played all over the world....To me seeing someone like Joti connects me to trancers everywhere...It's as if he is delivering a message to us from the rest of the world........And after that night a true trancer like Joti, Xdream, Dino or Serge becomes part of our family......

To me, that's what this scene is all about.

(And then there's the other side of the spectrum...And I won't mention those artists in this post, but I think most know the Alien Rejects, etc of the world....)

For me,it has alot to do with who is playing........
I would like to say that i have heard everyone at least once in my life......even if im not such a big fan of a particular artist,i always give them a chance and listen to them live or in person, then i might have a different opinion on them..........
So i look at the lineup first.second, whos producing it,third,location.....and most of the time i end up going......peace

I personally would like to see quality acts, quality djs, quality music, and most importantly, quality people......
I agree with Bob,the friendships that are made with all these people that have travelled to the most amazing places on this earth,is the most special and rewarding part of this whole thing......

With all of these ingridients,we will not fail......

I dont think i will be too hungry during the party.....
But if we have a big enough demand on the Gyros i might have to reconsider.....

Dai,maybe some of those tasty Japanese snacks you sported at my house the other night would go well with the munchies....
just a thought...thanks for those Dai,they were bomb.......
