Psytrance Structure question?

I recently read the Berkeley psytrance guide and noted that the body of psytrance tracks has two halves (first half introduces thematic material, second half rearranges material). My question is how much rearranging should be done? Should everything be rearranged or could I just introduce new material to play off everything? I know I will rearrange the bass and the drums of course but I was not sure about everything else.

you're free to do whatever you want. i never heard of that guide and i disagree with it... you're free in music production. if you need help listen to other tracks but be free and break the rules

man what a rational examination: don't even want to question it, but who wrote it, did he ever dance...?

Ok, I stopped reading after this : " Of these, techno is generally not as fast (around 100-120 bpm)"

So my advice, lithium72, just do whatever you think sounds good           ________________________

in past threads i have read "use your favorite artist as a guide" or similar advice. (these topics were mainly about different things in the structure) but i generally dont agree with this. as long as it can mix good in a dj set and makes people move, i dont see the point in having a set structure. if you want the second half to be completly different than the first half... do it. if you want it to be a rearrangment... do it.           The IsraTrance MySpace Group:

"Within trance, psytrance is distinguished by its generally higher tempo (135-145 bpm), more focus on sixteenth notes and exotic scales, and most noticeably, through the use of general sounds other than percussion and pitched sounds."
