hey hommies, is there psytrance music production courses or schools of psytrance???????????

not all kind of electronic music
i mean psytrance, in wich part of the world??
to be honestly i dont know of any school just electronic music but more focus on house and another stuff like sampling....
is there any artist giving classes in some part of the globe?

i've neva heard of any school for psytrance production...u can probably do a course on sound engineering so u know what production is all about...and as for psytrance production, it takes lots of practice and experience...try listenin to psytrance as much as u can and also use the internet to search for forums, tips etc...within a year or 2 u'll get a better feel to it as your experience grows...all the best!!! |

I dont think such a school exists, study sound engineering, music and some synthesis course. theres anew school in mexico that has some course on audio, music and synthesis and they will have special courses on electronic music genres such as trance, and they have qualified teachers that studied in berkley. So it is a great option i know the teachers and one of them likes psytrance so that could be an answer for u.

u can learn sound , producing & all sort of shit that u can spend your money on..
if u ask me , i'd tell u to invest your money in strong motherfuc@$ coputer , a good sound card , and good monitors(speakers)...
put kick , put bass & u R ready 2 fly... |

school might take us to the next level, i mean if you mix lots of people that shares the same interest you are sure to learn alot form these people...
to study something in a serious way.. having some pressure.. i think it can be a good thing...
im planning to educate my self in music, go to somekind of school, but im not sure were and what...
but i agree Scala you can learn by your self and from friends.. but sometimes studying can take you to the next level... or give you more things to reflect about..

Yeah scala, like becomeing an architect thru internet....what's the problem with learning...i think thinking like that is like not really taking music serious, thats why electronic music has bad reputation at least for pro musicians, a lot of them think we jsut turn on the computer and voila!!! a song is created.
I rather study i wouldnt like to be 40 and only be able to make trance, as a musician i'd love experiment with other genres wich really require a musical skill. |

Seems 2 me is like psy is a genre of music whose essence is the discovery of new musical experiences.
That cant be taught.
Sure u have a beat and a bass and some synths, but after u hear a particular idea then it cant really be repeated identically and b in keeping with the spirit of psy.
And thats what specialised schools do. they teach how to reproduce a specialised style/sound, without actually giving any of the intention or context behind it.
What u should do to make psy is learn about music in general, and other genres of music, and then apply that to the "psy" form.
Actually Im ashamed for sounding so mystical.Maybe what u want 2 make is just music that sounds like psy. which is fine. I think that any school of electronic music production will give u the basics, synths and mixing. then u have 2 decide if thats good enuf for u.
Profitability in the psy scene is not so gr8 and I think that most of the big names came from other scenes to begin with. A sort of side show that grew. Another reason Y u should invest in other genres and make psy for fun or love if u like. |
