Why not buy banner-space like a serious company would do instead of advertising in a forum thread

I don't mind much....advertising is expensive But i wish his CD had some MIDI and not just samples since I like to make my own sounds.

It's audio samples, I believe. If I was a loop-using person, I'd probably buy it.

aciduss,

I'm in your zone. I too am into the elusive psytrance riffs. Some of the most emotional music i've heard is a (what seems like simple) psy trance riff/melody/harmony that have captivated me. A piano player once told me "3 notes is all you need" and that goes for bass too. So it's the interaction.. between the notes/ harmonies that makes it?

BTW..he also said: the music is in the man ..not the machine. There's an emotion thing going on.

yeah a 3 note arpeggio on a minor or melodic scale often does the trick, just play a bit with the lead sequence untill it sounds great.           www.soundcloud.com/elektroakustica/sets/downtempo/

another cool trick is to divide the melody

so if we have : E , F , A , C , E , A , G
then open 2 synths and make
1:E , , A , , E , ,G
2: , F , , C , , A ,

it even got nice long name but i dont remember

(turns to real proggy vibe when is not fast melody)          www.sattelbattle.com

Hallo... this is for you all to post any tips related to riffs in psytrance.

I know there are no rules and all of that, but many times i find myself creating riffs that sound more house or techno like so in a way i know there are certain trance inducing patterns.

For a start, i mainly think of offbeat patterns and octaved arpegiators in 8ths or 16ths...

what do you have to share?

peace

When i make big synth riffs i usualy use 1/32 and 1/16 alot. sometimes 1/8

but whatever depends on you,but i find you always have to have 1/32 to have that fast energtic feel.

for example something i made with 1/32 , 1/8 and 1/16

well, yeah... tutorials usually demostrate a common concept that can then be applied and built upon. which is what this thread is about          Gamma Riders EP out now on iTunes and Amazon.com!
