Hello everyone,
I have recently decided that I would like to compose psytrance. The thing is that I don't know much about this.
I like Ananda Shake, Aquatica and Gataka
I want to make beautiful music like theirs. Here's what I am thinking of getting: Ableton, Edirol FA-66, either Novation ReMOTE 49 SL MKII or a Nord Lead 2x + Novation ReMOTE ZeROSL MKII and Omnisphere VST.
I don't know whether to get a Nord Lead 2x and the novation controller. or just the novation midi keyboard with built in controller.
By just buying a novation keyboard with controller it saves me a lot of money. I just don't know if I will be working mostly with hardware synthesizer or VSTs
I'd appreciate some advice from you pros |

Personally I find the SK Mk II to be the more versatile option for you as more than likely you will be starting out using VSTs and software while you save up for any future hardware.
(I own one, it's my 3rd MIDI keyboard, and I'll be staying with it for quite some time.)

I would include a decent pair of monitors instead of the nord lead and the omnisphere.
And maybe a cheaper midi controler instead of the novation to save money for the monitors.

yeap for a start get your self a decent and quiet pc, a good audio interface and a good pair of monitors.
midi controler get the novation if you can afford it but you can do with a cheaper one for start!
if software after some time feels not up to the job then get your self a hardware synth.

ah, I see. What can you recommend me that's cheapter than novation? The M-Audio KeyRig 49 would be good, but what controller would I need for that?

I have two Alesis M1 Active Mk2, don't know if they're good enough. |
