I DO program my synths myself too yes!
Especially picky on the KB.
But, i often end up with House-synths and 303's.
I Can't brain Albino yet, it makes my IQ fart. And thank you for the preset pack! Time for education!

try to learn basic syntesis an u will understand everything, its not that hard.
If u understand structure of synthesizer and how each part work,U can program any sound u want on any synth...

i totaly agree you should try to make your own, its part of the fun. i also agree that niether synth is better, just different, altho i do find my self useing sylenth1 alot more than albino, but both are really great. |

honestly you are missing a lot if your statement is true. there are SO much things you can do with soft synths are not even dreamable of in the hardware realm. digital has its sound that can be very nice in its own right as well. i think not looking at software synths is limiting nowadays.
to presets. they can be a nice and helpful start to explore the possibilities of each synth, kind of a showcase demo. then you can start tweaking from there and use the info you gain from the synths architecture. for more complex synths then sylenth which sounds good but is pretty basic in function this can be very helpful. i am thinking omnisphere or alchemy for example. some of the presets really point you out to whats possible..
