Psytrance listeners and sound quality

DO you think it's true that Psytrance listeners are more interested in the quality of the production and the quality of the sound systems at parties/festivals more then listeners of other styles, electronic or otherwise?
From what I've read in this forum alone, well produced tracks and cds are automatically held in higher regard then bad ones. Furthermore, at shows and stuff I find there are a lot of people who go just for the sake of hearing crystal clear sound on a huge system, and many party organisers put a lot of effort into setting up a really awesome system.
So do psytrancers really care more about the quality of production in tracks and the reproduction of this sound at parties more then fans of other styles of music? |

Definetelly!
Psy music is all about technology, about squezing those synths to the max to make those crazy sounds, its an abstract and sinthetic music, so we need it as clear and pure as possible 
For example i devide myself a bit betwen reaggae and psy, I can listen to psy in any sound system, its even fun if i go to a reggae party and the soundsystem is a bit noizy, roots as it should be. But if I go to a psy party and the sound system is crap i get really frustrated....
Same thing in the car, if soundsystem is good put on some trance! if its crap i prefer listening to something else...lol |

hmmm... with all respect to psytrance.
if you are looking for extremely well produced music, look somewhere else
same go`s for sound systems @ big festivals.

Sure - If the sound system is bad then a lot of people complainat psy parties here, more so than in house or techno clubs/raves (with a few exceptions - ie The End in London). Maybe its also more discerning listeners coming to psy parties, maybe more mature but then again at psy parties I have heard people go one about the sound system and sometimes they speak nonsense.
For me its simple, a nicely balanced system with good reproduction of all frequencies, maybe biased a bit towards the low end but good punchy mids please. Sometimes there is a tendency to overdo the very low end and that drives me (and my ears) mad.
Yossi maybe that's the case where you are, but here there are professional companies with excellent rigs to hire and most promoters here make sure there is good sound (at least Cape Town side) |

well i`ve been to "couple" of festi`s and parties, both psy and none psy all over the world.
its not that psy is all beneath criticism, u can find some nasty shitfor sure, but production and sound, other then knowledge... is all about $$$
and we all know how much money our scene is "rolling".
but again only my humble opinion

Couldn't say better.
Want to hear really high quality sound? Go to Deca records that releases highest quality Classical music or U2. As for festivals, i have only one word: Boom 2004

No.
Every type of music has a portion of its fans that are extremely concerned with production quality in the tracks and also about the sound systems at parties. I haven't noticed any more of these people in the psytrance scene than in other scenes. Psytrance listeners are just the same as people who are into breaks, techno, house, progressive, electro...you name it. Some people are really into quality production and sound systems, some people don't give a shit.
