people start to think a music is dying when it is developing in a way that they dislike.. a musical genre takes turns once in a while.. like goa trance evolved into progressive and psy trance, neo full on and so on... every time some people donīt want to follow the direction change because they think something will be lost (which seems fairly logic if you like a specific style for itīs particular attributes and then they change)..

xcuse can i have some examples of this so called "neo-fullon" ? thx

back in the days, oldschool goatrance was quite bubbly fast and "full on".. then progressive trance hit the scene.. when that wave passed the first 2/3 years something new emerged blending the two styles: neo full on, (which is almost ALL the full on you hear today)

google is your friend:

neo full on??? describe the difference of the ``neo full-on`` to the full-on, looks like you know it very well.

anyway, psy is alive, at least for me.           ``We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time.``

hello Isratrance friends.. I am a new user.. just registered today. Although I have been reading this forum for the past 2 years.. i can honestly say that i have gained valuable knowledge & useful information from our dear users, producers, & artist that are willing to share their tips, secrets, methods, shortcuts, you name it!! Maybe its our scene that is going through though times but as far as i know .. good music & life changing amazing parties get less & less. Is this a remix of goa we've been hearing with most tunes sounding the same & everyone wanting to sound like this artist& forgeting to be inovative, imaginative, creative with new ideas?? I have much respect to all the artists & their amazing artwork.. It seems that almost everyone can produce music these days if they really put forth the effort, hard work & dedication. I dont really care about labeling it. like fullon this progressive that, dark psy rules.. whatever.. music is music... My question to you is... do you guys think psychedelic trance will evolve.. it seems like everything thinkable has already been tried out.. i make psychedelic trance.. or what most ppl call "darkpsy". Anyways these are just some thoughts.

I have always been against labeling the music. Psytrance is good enough for me..Whatever comes out of that realm should be new, innovative and exciting....If you label it dark, or progressive, or nighttime, you begin looking for a certain formula...To me, innovation is key. New ideas....As someone new to producing, I am really trying hard not to copy or emulate any certain sound....Whenever I would go to parties, there was a certain sound I was searching for in my head and when I heard something similar, it made me move and feel the groove...Then eventually, everything began sounding formulaic.

Logic Bomb, for instance, to me is so unique. Although they are in the full on realm, or whatever, their sound is logic bomb and I love it..Same with Xdream, GMS, Infected, Xenomorph and even Artifakt..........

Now, GMS began to share their methods too much with artists and people began emulating them too much..So now, everyone has that GMS sound in the full on scene..Same with Infected.....Erez was an innovator, however, and Erez came up with original and very powerful ideas that changed Psytrance, but now everything sounds kind of like them and GMS....So now, we have the nighttime trance and all of that is sounding the same....

My favorite is when I hear that perfect Goa influenced track that is melodic and beautiful, but still makes you stompand feel the earth beneath you as if it is driving your groove...The perfect track to me can be played anytime, day, night, morning, afternoon, indoor or outdoor does not matter...It is timeless and awesome....

I know nothing about production really and cant even say that i will be able to recreate that special sound, but I am striving for it everyday..

So, no, Psytrance is not dead and it will never die as long as we as a community strive to keep it new and exciting..

The way I see it, people need to just do whatever comes out of their hearts, instead of worrying about sounding unique, or trying to sound like astrix in order to get bookings.

For me its quite ironic really..

To me, one of the most profound aspects of this music is that people all over the world at the same time are making music which is similar, which resonates with each other, using same ideas and frequencies to invoke a certain state of mind..
It is the very fact that so much of this music sounds so alike which shows us how we are all, globally, moving towards unity and oneness.

But, at the same time, it is our will to be seperate, to differentiate ourselves from others, which is driving us to find novelty, to find and create things which are different from others.

We are that small spark of deviation which simultaniously tries to create perfection while keeping the system as a whole from attaining it.
The system would stagnate and petrify if it ever would settle into static perfection, it is our spark which brings it life.           www.myspace.com/gaiana_25
