Psytrance in Birmingham??

Hi.
I have been living in Birmingham for 1 year now and I have realized that the scene in this city is 0. Does somebody know if there are some psy parties on this city or I might start looking where I always look (London, Bristol,Manchester...)
It's very strange for me that a big city like Birmingham is not having any psy parties, maybe I am missing something.
I woule apprecitate if you could let me know.

About ten years ago there was a big night called Spacehopper at the Que club which is where you could catch Tristan & Suzuki Tsuyoshi in their early days, as well as Aura Orange in Wolverhampton. Spacehopper stoped and Aura Orange went down a more hard dance route then stopped...
Since then various people have tried nights (like Stereo Chemistry a few years ago) or tried having psy room in bigger bashes at the Custard Factory, but its never really worked. Similarly Mess Media were putting on one off parties around the midlands - but again I dont think it quite work out.
I think the main issue is that outside of London there isnt really a ready made psy audience - so you cannot just put on party with a few "big" names and hope people come - you've got to slowly build up the party.
Anyway - thats a very long way of saying - you are right - there arent any parties in Brum!

It didn't make sense to me for a city as big as Birmingham, but after your small history lesson  , I can understand the reason why there are no parties in Brum, if they don't work, you don't get your invested money back, and nothing is free, specially in this country.
It's a pitty that here, you stop doing parties if they don't work, but I think sadly how it works here. Wish there where some openair free parties, but better stop dreaming

As with everything its cash - if parties keep losing money or the venue isnt making enough on drinks to pay the staff/venue costs - then the night cannot go on for long...
But check out the mess media crew who still do parties every now and again near brum

And come summer you'll find a lot of free parties around the UK - near where I live (Sheffield) there are parties most weekend out in the country - though more often than not - techno & underground house - but you do get the odd psy party - same goes for round most big cities

Thanks for your suggestion, I was in Spain when this party took place, but I will make shure I attend the next one.
I don't want to open a new topic to ask this question,therefore I am asking here, hope the moderators don't get mad..; -).
Does somebody know about a good psy party on the 20th or 21st of this month here in the UK?
Hope somebody can help me.

In fact I am not asking if thereīs any party near Birmingham, i am asking if thereīs a party in the UK. I just didnīt want to open a new topic.
I have checked goabase and psyforum and I havenīt been able to find anything. I am sure I am missing some underground stuff here...
