Hey everyone,
I bring forth another revolutionary idea.
I know we have this post by Pavel about examples of each trance style. And we have dozens of posts about what dark, psychedelia, full on etc... mean.
Now once and for all, i propose the creation of some kind of sticky or page listing psytrance related words (ranging from full on to arsim, from ambient to progressive etc...) and an agreed apon definition/explanation.
I am sick and tired of just having the same question asked over and over, and everyone just linking to previous threads.
If we had a post stickied at the top saying "Glossary" or something like that, i believe it would serve the community.
Now I realize it will be time consuming to produce appropriate definitions for each of those, but I believe it's worth it.
What do y'all think?

First, I agree that some of those "what's the definition's of X?" or "what does X mean?" topics can be a drag and never ending (unless bring locked...).
But, and thats my main point, words are nothing but words. especialy in a scene like the trance scene, where you deal with something as abstract as music and our reaction to it.
It's true, that there are some terms in the trance scene that have one clear meaning (psychedelic, arsim etc) and a "glossary" of them could be a nice idea... but, whenever satrting to "seal" a definition over music related issues, at the end of the day it's just a waste of time.
When describing music most likely we'll use metaphoers. ant they relate to the essence of what we're trying to describe, to the way we feel when we encounter that object (sound, taste, fragrence...).
As we know, feel, essence, are quite subjective matters, so when trying to describe an object through subjective terms. most likely we'll get a whole lot of different answers and all of them can be true...
Anyway, as I said, it's a good idea, but be carful what terms will be defined, some of them can lead to endless semantic discussions, and we don't want that to happen....

seeing as there are loads of people on this forum that actually dont even actually know the meaning of the word "psychedelic", your gonna have a LOT of work ahead of you.

do u? enlighten us please!
if u define chaos through a deffinite mathematical equation, it wont b chaos any more.....same goes for psychedelia if defined through a specific sound(s) &/or music genre.
unfortunately, many ppl take psychedelia as an exclusive feature in trance only.pity pity indeed...
