Hmm, seems like I cant open the .ens with the Reaktor 4 (demo). It tells me that the .ens has ben made with a newer version of Reaktor, how is that possible? Just downloaded the demo from NI webs.... |

how come you can read my mind???
just yesterday i was thinking "there are some psy-sounds that i need to learn to improve my tracks" and BUMP a thread about that just started almost at the same time here...
...can anyone here read my mind? listen to my thoughts ? No? well... thanks for thread anyway

So back to the question.... How about Albino 2 for this type of "squelchy" noise. I want to experiment but I am not certain if I start from a certain preset or do I initialize a patch and tweak from there. How do you initialize a patch in 'bino?

yeah you know everyone says reaktor is the best synth, and i've tried it, and i found it tedious. amazing, but tedious. i think in a lot of cases its some sort of "technical machismo" thing driving its popularity. i'm sure that hunch will be unpopular, but it's probably true.
i like my synths relatively simple, the complexity should correlate to the useability. stay on task, imo. if you are poising yourself as a writer, well, write. dont get sucked into months of sound design, it will be your undoing. plus, despite all these people who swear by reaktor, i've never heard many groundbreaking sounds coming out of it. i'm sure they're possible, but i'm betting that by the time the average joe gets through the large manual and learns how to create or jack the appropriate modules and string them together into something groundbreaking, he's ready to quit the hobby altogether.
i mean, designing new synths? it's fun to noodle with, but isn't that a separate job, studied and mastered by other engineers? if you spend your time reinventing the wheel, you'll get nowhere. if your goal is to noodle and geek out, well, then more power to you, reaktor is fun and is amazing. but the best synth for songwriting? the best synth for songwriting is the one that sounds the way you want to sound it in the least amount of time, before your great idea slips your mind. judging from my experience with it, i dont see reaktor as that. more like the answer is:

I agree with you on the Virus part.
But aren't sound design and making music different thingies ? I spend some of my time building stuff in Reaktor and freaking around with it and storing interesting patches and sounds: not really making music. Then (at a later time) when i'm making music i sometimes use the things that i made as building blocks or startingpoints. It's not necessary to let the sound-engineering part interfere with the creative flow. It's even best to keep those two separated i think. |

In Albini 2 it must be possible,At least i was a bit close to it half year ago, I used a deep bass or synth lead preset, lfo 1 routed main pitch and filter as effect, I'll shall give it a try again |

those are my reaktor synths in the rar files.
the problem is the reaktor demo is an old version, 4.0.3 while the latest reaktor version is 4.1.3.
br0d, no offense but i dont think you understand the idea behind reaktor. there is already more preset sounds for it than any other synth there is. you can either use all preset sounds or build your own stuff from total scratch or any combo in between. You dont have to build anything if you dont want to or have no need.
