Ahem...dodgy topic.
This is a very over-used sound...but I would like to know how they do it...maybe start me off creating other better sounds
One thing I've been trying to do for months using 2 synths (Reaktor 4 and Vaz Modular) is to make those typical psy style 'farting' noises (xcuse the term..but can't think of any other way to describe this sound).
A good example of this is at the beginning of Psysex's track 'Altered States'.
Would anyone have any hints or tips on how to get this sound..?
It's a very popular sound...but I would love to know how they get it.
It sounds like a very low key sound through a highpass filter with some crazy LFO action...

If you are talking about what I think you are talkign about.....
A kind of vocalish / effect noise... like AAAAhhhhhh (in an alien kind of voice?)
Also like in "The Gathering" by Infected Mushroom?

Yeah, I know the one you are referring to...this is done using a vowel filter in Vaz...but the sound I was thinking of isn't really similiar to this..
When I get home from work...I'll upload a sample..
the sound is used in quite a lot of tracks...I've been trying to get it for around months now but to no avail (although I did get a lot of good sounds in the progress)..
but I would still like to get this sound |

oh yeah, and it's used a lot at the beginning of 'Every Single Sound' by Hypersonic. |

yeah, it's the squeeks i'm referring too  Seems a better description than a farting noise..suppose I could stick a mic up my arse and record that, but I would never use the mic again .
Anyhoo, thanks for letting me know that there is a thread dealing with this.

I was looking too these sounds. hehe thats nice. You can used also some synths to make some noise. just have a lot of time to find the sound that do you like.
