There was topic posted on isratrance regarding psytrance being played along with video games. I thought that was one of the best topics posted in the forums.
I am a avid gamer. I've been playing video games for almost my entire life. I started playing games at 5, and now I am 25 years old.
Companies like polyphony digital have included psytrance inside their video game soundtracks. WHile these tracks may be cheesy to the average psyfreak, I think it is a major stepping stone in applying our music to something else besides playing the music at a club or a party.
Even the movie Man On Fire, featuring denzel washington, had tracks by deedrah and
GMS in the night club. Again, psytrance was used in a fashion beyond a party or festival setting.
For example, I love to see anime playing along with psytrance. There is just a really weird feeling with the fludity of the animation in a anime and a psytrance track. Even a friend of mine in college agreed with this.
I had interesting theoretical idea which could take a track created in some sequencer program and sycnhronize a certain set of real time 3d visuals with elements in a song composition(Think of mathematics and the concept of a function. Let's suppose I created some real time 3d visuals using open GL. Then for each music element in a psytrance song[bassline, sfx, melody, etc], there is a corresponding 3d visual which should animate when the sound signal is sent to some idealized 3d program which operates on midi data and audio signals). Unforunately, I think electrial engineering is extremely boring now and would rather pursue mathematics.
Ive also been catgorizing music by color since I've been playing video games. For example, most of the tracks in sphongle 3 are orange where as a the song The invisible college by Ghreg on Earth is Indigo. Songs with two different colors.
My point is that I'm always thinking of some idea where we could apply psy music. SOmething that is beyond just listening and partying to music in some night club.
ANyways, do you guys ever think about other applications where psy could be used?
Share it cuz I would like to hear your ideas.

After a night out clubbing, or simply chilling at home expanding horizons, one of our favourite group activities was playing Fantasia and muting the sound to play some psy trance... hell even chill music should do the trick... and for god's sake it was perfectly attuned to the hypos dancing in the pink tutu's... or perhaps it was simply 'that time' of the night, even if we all seemed to agree - they matched perfectly.
Eitherway the couple of times we did it was very hypnotizing, enjoyable experience. I recommend.
