try arp2600 saw with some LP filter.. and if you know how to shape a bass then you have to try that =) really tight envelopes and everything sounds nice.

For the last 4 years I've used albino for everything... except the bass. I just can't get it right. It's fine for some low end rumble, but as soon as I want some crunch... well for bass it sounds like a fat man whose trying to run too fast.

can you uplaod man ,would like to listen on my monitors, you use es1 since so much time that you may be a bit tired of it?i would love to get logic synths as vsti hehe

I have been and I plan to use it again. Its just that its good to have more options now. I like to use only a few synths that I like their sound and learn to use them inside out before I move on to something new. And I am not finished with ES1 yet, that's for sure. Its got its own sound, Albino has its own sound. Now I have both to use depending on the mood and style of the track.

Its all subjective innit. People were calling me crazy when I said I did not like the Virus B filters, especially in the breaks scene where the Virus was hailed as the holy grail of bass. But I much preferred my mate's Juno 60 filter, or my Doepfer's A-120 VCF, A-121 VCF, A-124 WASP VCF, A-107 morphing VCF, A-124 Curtis chip based VCF.

albino is very deep ,heard some amazing sounds coming from this synth ,it need good skill to really make it shine ,probably the reason i never got into it much ,in my experience it dont have that instant wow factor some synths have but it don t mean it can t sound as good or better.

You can get a good bass from almost any synth.

Some are better for dirty bass and some for clean bass.

For dirty I use my analog synth or Renegade for clean I use Alien303 or V-Station.

The simpler the Synth the easier it is to get your bass sound, I find that if Im using a very elaborated synth with loads of envelopes lfos, etc I dont usually get anywhere cos I take so long messing about with parameters that my ears get usted to the sound and I end up not knowing what sounds good and what doesnt.

Every producer I've brought up including myself bass is always the thing they have the most trouble with. I don't understand why but especially saw bass. I think they try to over complicate. Saw wave, play with envelopes and filter until sound right, eq to taste. done. sure theres many trickier things you can do but you can get a just fine fullon bass with this method.           http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

I found that for the bass and kick to glue together it is very helpfull to use the same synth to produce both.

I was using bazzism 2 to create my kick and my hardware synth to create my bass, 2 days ago I tryed using my hardware synth to produce a kick and bass that glued together and the results were magnificent.

+1

tried that with Blue for several times and was just amazed like you. at the end it seemed kinda logic to me, same source.... and kick and bass is pretty the same, so it should sound best with the same source....the best results gave a bass with less overtones, cause it simply played nice with the sine kick. the more overtones it had, the more it seemed separate. has been fun to explore, can only recommend to try around there....

anyways, not that easy with every synth. but blue was awesome for it and did a great job.....
