House music probably is a relgion considering the amount of support it has in volume of numbers..but psytrance is more like a cult...its like a MESSAGE FROM GOD When death comes to your doorstep, make sure you are alive

"but psytrance is more like a cult"
psytrance CAN be experienced in 'cult' situations..i think..
like maybe at places where things are formed for the first time..accompanied by very interested people.. or like maybe.. derango out in some swedish forest, dog of tears in the beautifull american nature .. when artists shine.
. cult situations .
if certain music is wretched from speakers for the millionth time at some commercial festival is not so cult right.. ?
or is sirius isness .. displaying a wicked new synth melody at a big festival.. cult ?

"Good psytrance"* evokes spiritual feelings and experiences, in a conducive set and setting, for me.
"Good psytrance"* heightens and expands, and throws in unknowns into my experience whilst in a state of altered consciousness. That is to say, I find it harmonious and resonant with my mind, and the patterns and vibrations that it surfs.
"Good psytrance"* amplifies those neurological sensations in my body, and the rythmic nature of the music seems to fit the same pulsatory nature of my mind.body
I would say that listening to "good psytrance"* can heighten the experience, but it isn't the experience itself.
*By good psytrance, I mean good psychedelic music, which is a matter of aural taste than definition.

I believe that everything depends on whom is experiencing something. Sages of many culture has made a point that everything can be sacred and it all depends on your mindset. Taking drugs or attending a party can be done only for fun and it's okay. But I think that people who are open to spiritual dimensions experience higher things then those that only want to freak out. Besides, freaking out can be something spiritual if you have right intention in this form of manifesting your being.
I wouldn't call psytrance a cult or a religion because it lacks any coherent system. I think that it would be beneficial to re-introduce systematic esoteric knowledge into our scene but we lack proper knowledge and proper people to do this. I've noticed some small parties that tried to introduce some forms of ritualisation but most of the time it's clear that we are disconnected from higher forms of energy.
