VA - Psytelligence
Organic Records
ORGCD006

1. Aphid Moon v Organik - Are Mutants?
2. Organik - Need A Drink?
3. Voice of Cod - We Are Free
4. Organik - Jellyfish
5. Miraculix - Sofisticated Electronics
6. Hammerheads - Spoon Bender
7. Mr. Biscuit - Slim Shady
8. P.O.T.S & Chris Organic - Bring Back The Sunshine
9. Indidginus - Superstrings (Wildy Inaccurate Remix)

Before I say anything about the cd, I must say that the Organic logo looks very cute

Now to the music - The first track isn't anything special, although it tends to be a bit better on the second half of it. The second track ain't any better, especially in the sound department. In track number three this compilation gets interesting - the sound is now much better and there is a point to the track. Well built, and nice sounds & melodies!
Track 4 is again a track by Organik, which is better than the first 2 disappointing tracks by him. This track doesn't seem to go anywhere as well, but the sound, sounds, and ideas are much better.
Miraculix gives it some "hidden" groove in Sof(ph??)isticated Electronics. The groove is hidden because you can't hear it from just listening, you gotta dance to it feel it
Anyway, imo those tracks were just an intro to what's coming next. Hammerheads got quite a nice track here, psychedelic, groovy and it also has a story in it!
The Slim Shady track is definitely a killer, and not only because of the sampled Eminem in it This is full on, but well done. This ain't no "killa bassline & kick" track, this is simply mayhem!
We're coming near the end and this time it's POTS and Organik! The track is somewhat dark and progressive, lots of percussion work but then the sunshine comes out and we get that simple yet beautiful melody As the sun shines the melody evolves and becomes even more appealing, and accompanied at all times by great percussions. Just when this track makes you think that the compilation is over, we get that metallic guitar (?) by Indidginus and a tribal beat. The track is opened slowly slowly, progresses and evolves with very emotional and beautiful sounds and melodies.

Bottom line: The last 3 tracks are worth getting this compilation alone, but the rest ain't that bad either

Favorites: 3, 6, 7(!), 8(!!), 9(!!!)

(edit: lol this review looks like a block of text with random smilies in it )
(edit2: forgot to say that the album has this old-school feeling to it, which is a very good thing )
