Psyshop.com (troubles with discounted cds)

I've been shopping with the regular online-psyshops for ages now. Psyshop, saikosounds, trance-shop and psysale.I've never had any problems. Something has been bothering me for a while now, though. The problem is as follows: Every time I order discount-CD's from psyshop.com(which is rare since theres almost never anything good discounted) the discs I recieve wont play properly. One wont play at all, one will play maybe one in five times and a third one just makes bizarre and annoying sounds(No - it's not some new unknown beatless ambient-noise project from skazi).
Now, whats the deal? They drop a crate of cd's and sell them at discount rates? Even though the cheapest cd's doesnt cost much more than a newspaper here in Norway I'd still like to recieve a working product! This has never happened with full price cd's I've bought from them, but has now been the case on three different occations when buying discounted discs. Somehow I dont think my cd-player is clever enough to recognise that theese cd's contain music that would otherwise never reach my hands..
annyone else had similar experiences?

Not the psyshop-bashing again!
Do those CDs you're talking about have any visible traces of damage? Some cracks or scratches? I bought three from those discounted price CDs (and few dozen normally-priced) and never had I encountered the problems you're talking about. Maybe they're protected from reading in PC CD-Rom and you're trying to play them on it (I heard there were some CDs like that). Or maybe your CD player just needs cleaning? I had to do this with mine recently, because disks started to skip at the end...
BTW. I'm not saying this because I like psyshop - I choose them because they're the fastest and the cheapest in delivery to Poland, even though their customer service leaves a lot to be desired... |

Well, If I want my doses of musical psychedelia the net is where I have to go. I'll probably give them the benifit of doubt and continue shopping with them. Hope it doesnt happen again, though.. |

@ Antic: well, no they really dont show any visible marks. That being said - I dont buy your argument. The cd's have also been tested on several "regular" cd-players.

I bought the Tripple Game album cause it was a unique chance to get it at such a price, and I had no problem with it.
edit : onyxura, I have edited the title of your thread.. Hope you won't mind. It's because what you're dealing with is quite precise and there are already threads dealing with the e-shops in the forum. Thanks for the understanding.

I bought more than 50-75 CDs from those shops, and I never had a problem with any of them.
Perhaps its cd the player ?

The same here, actually... I've been shopping with them for ages, and never really had any problems. Just thought it was a weird coincidence that the problems I had was with the three discounted discs.

Well.. Offcourse it could be, but that would be another rather strange coincidence. I've checked two of them on other players as well. Ah well, no big deal, just wanted to see if this was a pattern or not. Case closed |
