Well that was definitely a weird Belden trip.

Chromatone and Logic Bomb for the motherfucking win.

Hmmm, one review so far. Probably two things; people are still too cracked out, and many of the attendees aren't on isratrance. Definitely some of the cali trance intelligentsia didn't make it; enjoyable was the return of GoaPlay. I did see a number of familiar faces, however.

I for one had a great time. Yeah Lawrence killed it as always, and Logic Bomb sounded fat, although I was too pooped to dance to a lot of the set.

Big suprise for me was Sonic Species. Deep and chuggy, like Zen Mechanics. He seemed a bit peeved that I left him at like 147 or 148 (I went on before him). I guess I shouldn't do tempo mappings in Ableton when its 6am and I'm still drunk

X Noise was okay, nothing to write home about, definitely dj'd some solid tracks.

Sure, if you're used to Gemini, this Belden trip is going to seem weird. Somewhat different crowd, obviously, though I'll leave it to cranky old farts and haters as to whether they're "worthy" Logic Bomb did definitely bring out some old school heads.

Well for the first time a party where a decent number of young guys and a decent number of old heads both show up!

Maybe next time they'll actually talk to each other too

Someone did something stupid on friday night that left everyone in a bad mood for a while but eh, take the good with the bad.

I had a good time. I just got into isra now at work, been a busy morning so far.

It was a different vibe from Gemini, definitely, but I did get to meet a bunch of the "other" genre peeps and made some solid friends there. The age group was a lot younger than normal, but many of them had very high and positive energy.

This is the only time i've heard "Happy Festival!!" each time I walked past a group of young ravers (possible trancers, people!!). That made me smile each time.

I think the psytrance got the best of this festival though, as both nights the trance stage prevailed with dancefloor fullness compared to the other stages.

One thing that was odd was hearing psytrance playing on the other smaller stages when the big stage was going off. Seemed like there should have been more diversity as it seemed that there could have been a few more genres to provide to the non-trance folks.

I got to hear some pretty wicked dubstep, but not enough to really want to go to one of their events. Every single dj that ATTEMPTED to mix dubstep, failed miserably. The "train" came through belden town right about every mix and "wrecked" the dj's concentration, hehe

Logic Bomb was cool to see again, last time was many years ago in LA, but that was indoors so the vibe felt great.

What really threw me for a spin was him opening his set around 155bpm!!! I had never heard good melodic stuff like that at that pace. Then he continued with the classics and played a few fresh ditties I didn't recognize.

then he finished with a freaking mind-blowing remix of Hux Flux's Bring Your Own Bios, man that was a surprise and very psychedelic. I wish his whole set was like this.

Chromie did great as always, Rob's set was very fun to bob around too. Spyros brought out an old vibe I hadn't heard him play in ages. Torin's Bird of Prey set was fantastic on the 2nd stage. There are many others i got to see that was good too.

Many thanks to those that made it out on Friday night to check out our Psycircle madness. I had a good time sharing my new material with those still awake at 7:30 am.

Anybody else hit that traffic jam on the 80 heading back into SF? Daaaaamn, took almost 5 hours to get back to the city. Almost missed my flight home.

Good times were had all around though, I was very excited to see a lot of familiar faces I normally get to see only up north. Even a few carloads made it from LA.

Thanks again Spook!           We are all family. We put the fun in disfunctional.

There was one particular negative vibe that sticks out. These four obnoxious kids in a pickup truck who kept going on and on about how psytrance sucks and doesn't take any talent to produce. One of them bragged about having sex with some girl very crudely.

What topped it off though was one of them saying something like "I'm not okay with these transsexuals walking around"

I wanted to be like wtf, I'm not okay with your ignorant ass walking around, shithead! but I just shook my head and walked away

Along with keeping the ghost in my cabin at bay, I encountered some odd happenings as well.
A bit of bigotry... Regardless of content, ignorance is part of this "all" and some have more to work on than others, after all the dance floor is just a metaphor for everything.
I must say though I found some good music, more so I found heart. Friends new and old (in relation to what "what ever") shared a lot of love. I smiled a lot. Over all it was fun and nice to have a good time with friends in a remote location. After all it is a community...

That's something i've definitely noticed in many belden cabins: strange chi/vibe/etherics/whatnot. No biggie though of course with tons of beautiful lake and wildnerness to be in.

Thanks for the nod Tom.

Rob, it was a river. Nice set of your new music although I wish Ross could have been there too. My wife did mention the toasted sandwich guys were being vulgar but there coffee was good so worth enduring. Beach went off Saturday afternoon - loved the guy with studded leather necklaces body slam dancing with his chest onto the beach and the other guy in tie dye doing the extreme hand movements to the bass.
Spook of course made me grin ear to ear with his stage antic's like hair show & lip sinking long samples - priceless. Conner played a set on the lawn sound system with music that I liked the most. It was great to have 4 sound systems so everyone who wanted got to DJ and there was always one if not more with psy blasting. It was good to see so many friends and always a pleasure to dance around a bit and enjoy good music.
