Ok first of all if it does not fit here, please delete this.
We are working hard on our album for 2012 ,I uploaded an example and have a few questions.
Does it make sense to mix above 12000 hz when aiming "only" for vinyl? Also how low can you go?
Or should I cut all like hats etc around 12000 hz to have a better picture of what comes on plastic?
..this here is our latest piece ,made completely on reason 3 ,so far without lyrics and any cuts.If someone wants to master it feel free.It is a very slow thing though, one of our slowest ever.
Another question is how you wuld go about recording with vocals? I mean first when you have this beat as it is ,you would premaster it right? Untill -0,3 db right? Or would you first record your lyrics and cuts befor end master ? .. so than you would record on a file wich is -5 db ... +/- 16 rms - so far..
I usually premaster first the beat and than after total mix with new recorded rhymes I bounce the file again at around -6 on master fader and master it myself in wavelab.
The people that listen to such music do not expact much quality, they wait just for the music, but I'd like to make it a bomb.
It will be a bomb anyhows, just wanted to know does it makes sense to compress the beat 2 times, that is a bit confusing me..but I often like to record with compressor on the voice while the beat is alredy nice punching. Not sure about this issue.
Anyhelp appriciated.
