I got this in Portuguese so i'll translate it to here...
"It was discovered that our brain has certain Bugs. Here are some exercises to prove:
#1
You must do this exercise (calculations) mentaly, without a calculator, pen, paper and do it as fast as you can. Do not move down, at any point, before you complete each step. Be honest!
Here it goes:
You have 1000 and you add 40 to it,
You add more 1000,
Add 30 and 1000 again,
Now add 20.
Add 1000 one more time and add 10.
What is the total? (answer below)

The correct answer is 4100!!! If you dont believe it PLEASE get a calculator and add it again.
What may have happened is that the decimal numbers confuses our brain, which naturally jumps to the highest decimal places (hundreds)
Did you get it? Good for you, try the next one!

Have you ever asked youself if peole think the same thing at similar things? Do this test:
Follow the instructions and answer the questions once at a time, MENTALLY and as fast as possible. Do not move forward before answering the previous questions.
Once at a time

It didnt really work for me (everything) but it worked for all my 18 brothers, 9 sisters, 3 parents, dog, cat... 
I dont know if, because of the translation, it's going to work for you...
BTW I just realized how unique I am.

well i got 4100 and 3 haha
i tested the calc...and i'm feeling pretty fucked right now 
btw. it is true hat it is a bug inhuman software. the brain automatically sums up to 1000, because 1000 is written there over and over. would it be 100 instead of 1000, u'd get the right result....500. and the second one works with english speaking ppl best. because "of" is a much used word and not a noun or verb, the brain jumps over it...but as u see, it doesnt work for all.

after reading the ansewr i still couldnt count 6
