I'm thinking stuff like ninja tune and true thoughts, Bonobo's new album for example..or the more quirky stuff like tipper and mollusk and spoonbill..a lot of stuff that's being released and sold on addictech.com, also labels like ghostly international...those are the first that spring to my mind

on the other hand I don't think all of the chill labels are releasing cookie cutter music, I just kinda went in another direction           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

I think again I'm going to reiterate what I said earlier and what I'm seeing in this thread. It's not that psychill is dead, it's that people have limited in their mind what music fits into, or defines a sub-style to a few artists when it really has become more an over arching sub-genre at this point.

Anything that combines psychedelic elements; which include but are not limited to; psychedelic cultural sampling, echo effects, reverb chambers, acid lines, long droning progressive builds, et cetra..

and music that is "Chillout" which covers so many styles I'm not even going to get into it.

So you see in the context of the music and not specific artists how much larger the "Psychill" umbrella actually is. People are arguing about whether some lower branches on the tree are looking kind of dead when there are other newer branches that are burgeoning and blossoming.           blip.fm/itranscendence

this is very well put, and I must agree.

......but i also can't resist pointing out the irony of you having a link to a dead chillout website in your sig           http://soundcloud.com/rob-vector

We've had some interruption in our service, but v2 will be up very soon with netradio, forums, a bunch of interviews we had to delay, more free music, and soc-net tools to help artists get hooked up with promoters etc with the scene. Our artist/label/release database will pull in directly from discogs now too.

dead or not dead - this music has no boundaries.

we are still here spending time speaking on it no?
as in anything in life i think that each time you thinking/chatting/listening or what ever on a subject, you kind of giving it "life"

Psychil is dead only bcs someone put a label on some music he/she thought was psychill, music moved on and didn't fit into some subjects preconceptions of what psychill is and so psychill died. If you don't label anything, nothing dies, lawhl.
