Something interesting.

the other day a friend of mine went to sign off a few singles with a label.... he composed a mellow tempo track (105 bpm or so).
HE was welcomed by a frigtening revelation. The A & M promised him a bright future only if he was to compose somethign more pumpy...." the audience wants more tempo nowadays "

Where is this tempo business heading towards... from and age to RD Burman buyouts to the modern age of EDM demands, the audience has shown signs of increasing their tastes with beats and basslines.

Sometimes I wonder. The demand as of now is around 120 - 125 BPM........ how long for it to get towards the 145 to 160 mark? Not too late.....

So MY friends, we are in a future league of music taste.. hold on, the world is gettign there soon!

Cheers

Proggy Art. I feel that its true, the demand for clubing over normal listening has taken a major step in music transformation.

This is very vital, we are ahead of the people ;-)            POP TILL YOU DROP

House is at 128 bpm and we know there is enough demand for that in the mainstream.

Recently we've seen maturity in India. There is a big crowd which includes the mainstream who have started liking 140 to 145 bpm astrix/yahel style melodic music.

When these artists play in big name hotels they pull in enough of the house music crowd who really like the change to a heavier groovy bassline with melodic, minimal psy elements.

So maybe not 150 to 170 but the 145 wave is hitting the masses. Slowly but surely.

Progressive, ambient, minimal forms of psy should appeal to most. Its definitely better than most house music imho.

There has always been a crowd for every genere of music. Right from 100 to 150 bpm.
But yes you are right, its the house music and progressive that is what sells today.
