As some of you are aware, I graduated law school here in Brooklyn a few months ago; if someone moves ahead with buying a piece of land off the grid and attempting to setup an LLC to administer it or whatnot, I'd be happy to do the documentation for it on a pro bono basis. so, still waiting and watching and hoping someone who's not a developer buys the Circle Bar Ranch. It would really suck if that land went to build another shitty tract house community instead of a kick ass venue for all your psytrance needs (even in the height of summer desert heat). Finally got in touch w/ the realtor on the property I described above. They are asking $2 million US for 23 acres (also included are grazing rights on 180,000+ acres of National Forest land). Again, this land is less than an hour from a major international airport, less than 20 minutes from a world class hotel and resort, and less than a day's drive from about 1/3 - 1/2 of the country. Although it is the desert, weather conditions and the placement of the ranch in the mountains will provide adequate conditions for events year round (though July thru early September might be a little less tolerable). If anyone is serious about starting a permanent psy-centric cultural center, this would be an excellent option.

$2 million is a lot of money, especially in our scene. IMO the best option for a permanent psy settlement in the US is off the grid land in north California forests or southern california deserts, where apparently land can go for as cheap as $200 an acre
