Hi Guys,

Moki - I also do free videos but this is my full time job hence the reason i charge for them, and £50 for over 10 hours of videos isnt bad imo.

Inner Demon - My credentials as you call them come down to more than having released tracks, i have taught for many years, however if you watch the promo video you will hear the track i teach you how to produce in the videos, thats why i done it this way, if you like the track, then the videos will teach you everything in the track.
You can check out http://www.youtube.com/cubaseguru to check the promo track.
For my music you can check my new myspace, http://www.myspace.com/celticmantra
I have upcoming releases on Moonquest records also. I am also responsablr for all mastering for LUAR Records.
TimeTraveller - thanks for your words, they are much appreciated.

Mark

u shoudlnt rely on mastering for your mix to magicly sound good... its all in the mixing, in my opinion there is no such thing as final mixing, mix all things on the fly to keep its purpose.

Hey Soundmagus, since you're not a "bluename" I'm just curious as to what your credentials are? Any released tracks I can listen to?

although this is a somewhat valid concern, you also have to realize there are different skills involved here. just because someone makes great music doesn't really mean they can teach. there's plenty of examples of that on this forum. talented people give completely useless advices, not because they are the wrong advices, but because they don't really bother with wording the answers with the person asking the question in mind.

also, there's no course on "creating genius music." it's all technical information and someone can master that and be really good at teaching others (which is, once again, a skill not everyone possesses), without actually creating great music themselves.

just a general observation.

Ok guys, chill
I didn't mean any offense and I hope Soundmagus didn't take any.

That said, I feel I have to point out that it is however a very valid concern - there are many self-appointed experts on the forum and having spent countless hours following bad advice myself I've come to take credentials in terms of tracks (or rather production quality of those tracks) rather seriously. I love the initiative, just thought I'd ask - especially since its not for free.

I have to agree with you Septa. I'm still not "fully" happy with the quality of my music yet, though it is getting there in leaps in bounds.

Even so I have quite a bit of knowledge in the area and I know how to teach people things that I can't even quite do great myself yet. It's simply because I "do" have the knowledge but I have not enough practice with it to be able to apply it successfully 100 percent.

There are plenty of "blue names" that I've helped to learn new things they were not even aware of.

So it completely depends on the person, knowledge, and actively applying that knowledge are two different things, albeit very closely related.

I agree, and I didn't mention the bluename thingy as some sort of confirmation that the person knows everything, just that I can look them up

There are plenty of bluenames whose music I do not consider particularly good, likewise I'm sure there are many others here making great stuff...

Inner Demon - No offence taken at all, and i hope other people didnt take pffence ot it either, it was, and still is a perfectly valid question which should be asked.

If you would like to sample my teahcing abilities etc there are free tutorials on my site which can be watched if you sign up.

I teach privately at home also and have been doing so for over 5 years so am confident that you wont have a problem with how, what and why i do it

I saw some cubase vids earlier before the site went online for 25 bp that are no longer available... Do these new videos include those?           I don't use ideas. Every time I have an idea it's too limiting, and usually turns out to be a disappointment. But I haven't run out of curiosity. -RR

For whatever it's worth, this "blue name" endorses Soundmagus' solid engineering advice and very helpful video tutorials.
